  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

Burglary and vehicle crime is an ongoing priority.

    Issued 01 December 2025

    Action taken:

Local officers are reviewing all reports of vehicle crime and burglary, supported by our forensics and detective colleagues. This ensures that our operational activities are driven through the criminal justice processes to achieve the best outcome for the public. Our officers continue to make key arrests through detailed investigations, and bringing offenders to justice. This is ongoing.

During the month of November, we have had no reported burglaries in Biddulph town. Vehicle crime is also low with just four reports during November.

    Actioned 31 January 2026

  • Priority:

Anti-social behaviour (ASB), including vandalism, off-road bikes and youth-related nuisance behaviour is an ongoing priority.

    Issued 31 August 2025

    Action taken:

Officers have worked alongside Sainsburys in High Street to address anti-social behaviour in and around the store.
Officers are also taking a partnership approach to tackle the root cause of behaviour, as well as using both criminal and civil powers to tackle this issue. Increased patrols and intelligence gathering around off-road biking is being used to catch and deter this type of anti-social behaviour.

We are aware that the local press have reported damage to grassed areas in the Biddulph area during the weekend of 15th November. Police have not had any reports recently relating to off-road bikes and would encourage the public to report any issues.

    Actioned 31 January 2026

  • Priority:

Theft affecting businesses in Biddulph. Through recent scanning and analysis, we've identified retailers in and around Tunstall Road as a repeat location for theft-related incidents.

    Issued 03 August 2025

    Action taken:

These premises have been highlighted due to ongoing reports of thefts affecting businesses, staff, and the wider community. In response, our team is actively working on problem-solving approaches with store management and partners, including:

    - High visibility patrols during peak hours
    - Targeted offender management; use of Criminal Behaviour Order's for repeat offenders
    - Use of CCTV and intelligence sharing
    - Crime prevention advice and support for staff

Following this proactive policing, we have seen a significant reduction in reported shoplifting in the town centre. We will continue to work with local businesses to further reduce thefts.

Shoplifting in the area continues to reduce in Biddulph Town Centre and remains low

Shoplifting continues to be low in Biddulph Town with only a handful of reports in recent weeks

    Actioned 30 November 2025

  • Priority:

Anti-social behaviour around Sainsburys High Street, Biddulph Town.

    Issued 01 June 2026

    Action taken:

Officers are working closely with partner agencies and detached youth workers. This multi-agency collaboration allows us to share information, coordinate responses, and provide targeted support to those affected. By engaging with youth workers, we aim to reach young people in the area, offer guidance, and help prevent further incidents.

We are actively exploring both criminal and civil measures to reduce ASB-related issues. Criminal options may include investigating offences and taking appropriate legal action where necessary. Civil interventions can involve community-based solutions, such as Acceptable Behaviour Contracts or dispersal orders, designed to deter problematic behaviour and support positive change.

We continue to liaise with Sainsburys management to foster a collaborative approach towards resolving these challenges. By working together, we can identify underlying causes, implement practical solutions, and create a safer environment for customers, staff, and local residents.

    Actioned 01 September 2026
