    Action taken:

  • Priority:

Off-road bikes and the associated anti-social behaviour in the Meir and Meir Park area. Residents have told us about the damage to green spaces and vehicles, the noise, and the fear these bikes cause when ridden dangerously on roads and through parks.

    Issued 02 September 2025

    Action taken:

Operation Transom continues in partnership with Stoke-on-Trent City Council. This involves the neighbourhood policing team, roads policing unit, local authority anti-social behaviour (ASB) team, and dedicated communications support. The goal is clear: to identify offenders, take enforcement action, and reassure the public through visible and proactive policing. As part of our ongoing work, we have carried out targeted days of action. These operations include the use of drones, NPAS (police helicopter), a fixed-wing aircraft, and specially trained officers using off-road bikes. This allows us to safely pursue and apprehend offenders, even in hard-to-reach areas.

    Actioned 30 September 2025

  • Priority:

    Retail crime at B&Q

    Issued 02 September 2025

    Action taken:

Our neighbourhood policing team is actively targeting high-impact, repeat offenders, working closely with investigative teams to ensure appropriate enforcement action is taken. We continue to work in partnership with local businesses to explore preventative measures whether through improved security, staff training, or reporting processes to help deter further offences. A visible police presence remains a key part of our approach. Our officers and PCSOs will continue to patrol key retail areas to reassure the public and deter would-be offenders. By combining enforcement with prevention and visibility, we are committed to reducing retail crime and supporting a safe and thriving shopping environment in Meir and Meir Park.

    Anti-Social Behaviour & Community Concerns

    Issued 03 December 2025

    Action taken:

We are also listening closely to the community regarding concerns around anti-social behaviour. High-visibility patrols will continue over the coming months to address issues such as stone-throwing, youth-related ASB, harassment within homes, harassment of local businesses and matters linked to homelessness.

We encourage residents to speak with officers on patrol and report any concerns directly. Your information helps us identify problem areas and take effective action. We are working closely with partners from the local authority, who are supporting our efforts to reduce ASB and keep the area safe.

You will see an increase of drop in sessions for residents, supported by our PCSOs and the local Cllrs.

    Actioned 31 December 2025

  • Priority:

    Drug Related Issues

    Issued 03 December 2025

    Action taken:

We are continuing to focus on drug-related activity in the Meir area, building on the proactive work already carried out in recent months. Local officers have executed a number of drug warrants at addresses identified through community intelligence, particularly those linked to anti-social behaviour and suspected drug use.

We are actively targeting individuals involved in drug dealing, dismantling local supply networks, and taking robust enforcement action against those responsible.

We will continue to work with partners and the community to identify problem locations, gather information, and ensure that Meir remains a safe place to live and work.

    Actioned 31 December 2025

    Vehicle Crime

    Issued 10 March 2026

    Action taken:

Operation Alcaic is our highly successful ongoing initiative focused on vehicle crime. We now have a dedicated officer leading on this priority, and early results have already seen several key arrests. This operation closely links with our ongoing work under Operation Transom, targeting anti-social behaviour involving nuisance motorbikes. We are working in close partnership with our Roads Policing Team, using specialist tactics, NPAS (police helicopter), and drone technology to identify and apprehend offenders. These crimes are not only causing financial loss and distress to victims but also endangering the lives of both the offenders and other road users. We remain committed to taking robust enforcement action and encourage all residents to secure their bikes, keep them out of sight where possible, and report any suspicious activity or intelligence to us.
