Your Local Policing Team is a group of local police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area, supported by additional officers across the county who work together to improve the safety and well-being of people, places and communities across Staffordshire.
We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for your area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our force vision of creating a safer Staffordshire.
Retail-related crime is a key concern for local businesses in Fenton, particularly in relation to persistent shoplifting.
Issued 02 September 2025
We’ve been actively listening to our business community, who have reported the significant impact this type of crime is having on both staff and shoppers. We have also focused operationally on identifying and targeting priority shoplifters, taking enforcement action including arrests where appropriate. In parallel, officers have been engaging directly with store security teams, working together to implement deterrents and banning known offenders from entering premises. We recognise that enforcement alone is not the solution, which is why we’ve worked closely with partner agencies to address the underlying causes of retail crime, such as homelessness and wider challenges. Regular rough sleeper outreach and welfare checks have been carried out in the town centre to ensure support is offered where needed. To help prevent issues, we've shared public safety messages to shoppers around vehicle crime prevention, reminding people to secure their vehicles and keep valuables out of sight when using local car parks. Looking ahead, this area will remain a key focus for us. We will continue to use Civil Powers, such as Community Protection Warnings (CPWs) and Criminal Behaviour Orders (CBOs), to manage persistent offenders and support safer retail environments.

Nuisance Motorcycles
Issued 02 September 2025
Operation Transom continues in partnership with Stoke-on-Trent City Council. This involves the neighbourhood policing team, roads policing unit, local authority anti-social behaviour (ASB) team, and dedicated communications support. The goal is clear: to identify offenders, take enforcement action, and reassure the public through visible and proactive policing. As part of our ongoing work, we have carried out—and will continue to arrange—targeted days of action. These operations include the use of drones, NPAS (police helicopter), a fixed-wing aircraft, and specially trained officers using off-road bikes. This allows us to safely pursue and apprehend offenders, even in hard-to-reach areas.

Drug-Related Issues
Issued 03 December 2025
We are continuing to focus on drug-related activity in the Fenton area, building on the proactive work already carried out in recent months. Local officers have executed a number of drug warrants at addresses identified through community intelligence, particularly those linked to anti-social behaviour and suspected drug use.
We are actively targeting individuals involved in drug dealing, dismantling local supply networks, and taking robust enforcement action against those responsible.
We will continue to work with partners and the community to identify problem locations, gather information, and ensure that Fenton remains a safe place to live and work.

Anti-Social Behaviour & Community Concerns
We are also listening closely to the community regarding concerns around anti-social behaviour. High-visibility patrols will continue over the coming months to address issues such as stone-throwing, youth-related ASB, harassment within homes, and matters linked to homelessness. We encourage residents to speak with officers on patrol and report any concerns directly. Your information helps us identify problem areas and take effective action. We are working closely with partners from the local authority, who are supporting our efforts to reduce ASB and keep the area safe.

Retail related crime remains an issue for businesses located in the area
Issued 11 June 2026
We’ve completed a Designing Out Crime review in partnership with our Early Intervention and Prevention Unit, identifying environmental and procedural improvements to help deter offending.
