Traffic Offences- Off Road Bikes
Issued 05 December 2025
We are aware of the on going concerns raised by residents and members of the community about the use of off road bikes. As a result, our road crime team will continue to spend time in the areas. We have arranged targets operations using a variety of resources including our road crime team, Staffs off road bikes, drones and the fixed wing plane. This has been on going through the summer. This has also involved local officers engaging with petrol stations schools and joint visits with local housing officers to address problem properties.

Making Great Places
Issued 09 March 2026
The "Making Great Places" initiative in Tunstall aims to address community concerns and improve public spaces. Local officers are engaging with residents to discuss issues affecting the area, focusing on crime reduction and community safety. Recent consultations revealed that 76% of people agree on improving public spaces, with proposals including new tree planting and outdoor market stalls. Additionally, a £4.5 million plan is underway to enhance public spaces around the town centre, with feedback from residents to guide the improvements. Overall, the initiative is focused on creating a cleaner, safer, and greener environment for residents and visitors. This is ongoing work that will continue and the residents of the area are encouraged to make Tunstall a great place.

Whilst a relatively low crime area, violence and theft make up the majority of offending. We will continue to target known offenders and support victims of this crime type along with safeguarding individuals where it is needed. We also liaise with a well-established local community group who support police action. High-vis patrols and local PCSO drop in sessions. We ask the public to report any signs of potential drug dealing, no matter how small it may seem. If any community members would also like to be part of a walk-along patrol to discuss this issue, please use the contact forms on this site.
