We were delighted to welcome the Home Office Minister, Lord David Hanson, into Staffordshire recently as he joined officers from our Road Crime Team (RCT) and Special Constabulary for a road crime operation.
The operation, which took place in Cannock on Thursday 15 October, saw more than 50 vehicles stopped, 13 vehicle offence reports issued and five vehicle seizures.
Intelligence was also gathered for future operational use and one vehicle was seized after it was suspected to be stolen.
Sergeant Mark Gribble, of the RCT, said: "RCT officers supported our Special Constables with completing paperwork and witness statements to support their learning and development.
"This was a successful operation and we received positive feedback from the public and all officers involved.
"Lord Hanson was also highly complementary during his visit, commenting on the professionalism displayed by all officers involved.
"He said that he was particularly impressed with the check site, the effectiveness of the operation, and the cohesive working relationship between the Special Constables and full-time officers."
