A man has been charged after a woman suffered serious injuries following a collision in Burton-on-Trent.
Mohammed Shakil, 55, of Burton-on-Trent, has been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to provide a specimen for analysis, driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence and using a motor vehicle on a road without third party insurance.
It comes after we were called to Needwood Street shortly before 3.25pm on Tuesday (9 June) following reports of a collision involving four vehicles.
The driver of the Vauxhall, a woman, was assessed at the scene by paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service. She was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where she remains today (Friday 12 June).
No one was inside the other two cars at the time of the collision.
Shakil appeared at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre yesterday (Thursday 11 June) and has been remanded ahead of his next appearance at Stafford Crown Court, at a date and time to be fixed.
