We are appealing for any witnesses we have not already spoken to after a man who was seriously assaulted in Lichfield last month sadly died.
We were called at 11.25pm on Sunday 24 May to Ricco and Loren bar on Market Street following reports that a man had been punched.
Matt O’Gara, 31, was taken to hospital with serious injuries but sadly died on Tuesday 26 May.
His family continue to be supported by specialist officers.
A second man was also assaulted. He was taken to hospital and discharged a short time later.
Billy Allison, 36, from Solihull, was arrested just after 5am on Monday (26 May). He has been charged with murder and Section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent and is due to appear at Stafford Crown Court on 1 September.
We would urge anyone who has any information which might help our investigation to contact us. We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who gave Matt advanced life support. Get in touch via our online portal here: Public Portal, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
