A man has been jailed for drug offences after officers carried out a stop-and-search in Cannock last year.
Mohammed Omar Raysat, aged 36, of Great Wyrley, appeared at Stafford Crown Court on Tuesday (27 January) where he was jailed for five years and seven months after admitting being concerned in the supply of class A drugs, heroin and crack cocaine; driving while disqualified and driving without insurance.

He was stopped by officers in November last year while driving a black Seat Leon on Cannock Road in Chadsmoor.
Raysat was found with heroin and crack cocaine, cash and a burner phone.
Later searches of properties in Great Wyrley and Walsall revealed further drugs and paraphernalia.
Raysat was arrested and charged before later admitting the offences in court.
Along with his prison term, Raysat was ordered to pay £228 surcharge, was further disqualified from driving, with his licence endorsed, and the drugs and paraphernalia were ordered to be seized.

Speaking following sentencing, Chief Superintendent Victoria Downing, of our major and organised crime department, said: “Raysat was driving around in the middle of the day with drugs on him and in his vehicle.
“In his property, officers further discovered a tick list and sim card involved in the supply of drugs.
“I am glad he has been handed a significant jail term and hope this shows how we continue to disrupt the supply of illegal substances in Staffordshire to bring offenders to justice.”
