Man arrested following disturbance in street

A man has been arrested following a disturbance in Stoke-on-Trent.
Officers went to Leason Road in Meir yesterday (Monday 17 August), following a report of a man with a machete in the street at around 9.15pm.
The suspect left the scene before officers arrived.
At around 3.40am, following extensive enquiries, armed officers went to another address and arrested a 30-year-old man, from the Stoke-on-Trent area, on suspicion of attempt to cause grievous bodily harm with intent to do grievous bodily harm and possessing a knife blade / sharp pointed article in a public place.
He remains in custody while our enquiries continue.
