The family of a man who died in a single-vehicle collision in East Staffordshire recently have paid tribute to him.
We were called at around 1pm on Friday (17 April) to Doveridge Road in Stapenhill, Burton-on-Trent, following reports of a collision.
A van was involved in the collision with the driver, who was a pedestrian and out of the vehicle, at the time.
Lakhbir Banga, aged 41, of West Bromwich, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
Paying tribute to Lakhbir, known as Lakhy, his family said: “Lakhy will be remembered by so many as such a bubbly, friendly and gentle soul who went out his way to always make everyone laugh, whether it was with his silly jokes or dances, he would have you laughing again in no time.
“His presence will be deeply missed by his sisters, brothers, mom, dad, uncle, aunties and his wider family.
“Our lives will never be the same without you.
“We love you, Lakhy.”
Our investigation into the collision is well-underway.
Lakhy’s family continue to be supported by specialist officers at this difficult time.
