We are launching a crackdown against the illegal use of e-scooters and e-bikes across Cannock and south Staffordshire.
Officers are working proactively as part of their routine patrols to seize any vehicle that is being used illegally or anti-socially.
Where appropriate, we will pursue prosecutions against those continuing to use vehicles illegally and dangerously.
This forms part of our commitment to ensuring we tackle reports of anti-social behaviour and driving offences as proactively and effectively as possible.
Chief Inspector Kelly Wareing, of the Cannock and south Staffordshire local policing teams (LPTs), said: "We know lots of people riding e-scooters and e-bikes don't necessarily understand the law around them, particularly young people.
"We don't want to prosecute those that fall into this category so we will aim to educate young people and guardians about the law surrounding these vehicles.
"However, anti-social behaviour is an offence and we will be taking a robust approach to those responsible for such behaviour on our roads."
Officers up and down Staffordshire are working hard every day to tackle the issues that matter most to local people.
Intelligence gathering is crucial for us to take action against those responsible. To report anti-social vehicles in your area, call 101 or use Live Chat on our website. Alternatively, email the Harm Reduction Hubs directly to provide information on people you know are riding in an anti-social manner, any CCTV or doorbell footage or for individuals/families that you feel would benefit from some educational advice via [email protected] or [email protected].
