A 17-year-old boy has been charged with a number of offences following a fatal collision in Stoke-on-Trent.
The boy, of Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, who cannot be named legally because of his age, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop after a road accident, failing to report an accident, driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence and using a motor vehicle on a road without third party insurance.
It comes after we were called to Dawlish Drive, Bentilee, at about 6.05pm on Friday (17 October) following reports that a teenage boy and the driver of a car had come into collision.
The teenage boy, 17-year-old Alex Woodward, died in hospital the next morning (Saturday 18 October).
The boy who has been charged is due to appear at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre today (Tuesday 21 October).
A 20-year-old woman, from an area near Werrington, who was previously arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and perverting the course of justice, has been bailed with conditions.
Two other boys, aged 17 and 16, from Stoke-on-Trent, who were previously arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, have been released under investigation.
