A former police officer has been jailed for seven months after he admitted misconduct in public office and assault offences in court.
Jarrett Kinson, 43, of Tamworth, admitted the offence of holder of a public office wilfully misconducted himself and common assault at Stafford Crown Court on Monday (27 October). He was sentenced at the same court on Wednesday (29 October).

Kinson was dismissed as a police officer in November 2019 after he admitted corruption through abuse of his authority of the office of constable and was jailed for eight months.
Following his conviction, further allegations came to light and Kinson was arrested in August 2021. He denied the offences when interviewed.
The offences happened in 2011 and 2017 in Staffordshire.
Assistant Chief Constable Sally Blaiklock said: “Jarrett Kinson’s crimes are reprehensible, and he was in a position of trust as a police officer.”
“The victim and witnesses in this case have shown immense courage in coming forward. We do not underestimate how hard it is to report offences when the perpetrator worked in policing.”
