Seven people have been arrested on suspicion of theft offences after we carried out a number of warrants across Stoke-on-Trent.
We’ve been working hard to investigate a number of burglaries and attempted burglaries linked to car thefts across the city. Our proactive team in the north have been building intelligence to find those responsible for nearly 30 incidents, including eight burglaries and 18 attempted burglaries.
Three people were arrested yesterday (Thursday 8 May):
They were released under investigation while our enquiries continue.
Four more people were arrested today (Friday 9 May):
Detective Sergeant Marc Proctor, from the city proactive team, said: “Taking robust action against those responsible for burglary and theft is one of our main priorities in the city.
“We’re working hard every day to investigate reports, build intelligence on the criminal networks responsible for these crimes and to proactively protect the belongings of local people and businesses.”
The total number of burglaries, theft from the person and robberies reduced by a combined 217 incidents from December 2023 to December 2024, when compared to the previous year.
