We have made an arrest after recovering a stolen motorbike in Stoke-on-Trent.
Officers have been investigating after the incident was reported to us on Saturday 3 April. Two motorbikes were taken from outside a house on Nicholls Street, Stoke. We managed to track down and find one of the bikes, a black Yamaha, on the same day it was taken. The second bike, a white WK, is still missing.
Following a number of enquiries, we arrested a 17-year-old boy from Stoke-on-Trent yesterday (Wednesday 7 May), on suspicion of vehicle theft. He was questioned in custody and bailed with conditions while our enquiries continue.
We don’t underestimate the profound impact that burglary, theft and robbery can have on people and businesses. That’s why we’ve worked hard to reduce the number of burglaries and robberies from December 2023 to December 2024, when compared to the previous year. Overall crime also reduced by more than 1,000 incidents in the same period.
