A man has been arrested following a stop-and-search in Stoke-on-Trent.
At around 4pm yesterday (Thursday 23 January), an officer searched a man on John Street, Hanley.
During this, the officer was punched and dragged to the floor. He suffered a cut to his thumb and leg.
A 37-year-old man, from the Stoke-on-Trent area, was arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled drug of class B and given a community resolution order.
He was further arrested for obstructing/resisting a constable in the execution of duty and assault by beating of an emergency worker. He has been released under investigation whilst enquiries continue.
