We are appealing for information after a woman was assaulted while walking her dog in Cannock.
We were called at 5.10pm on Thursday (16 January) to a car park on Lichfield Road.
The victim, a woman in her 30s, had suffered concussion and damage to her teeth and nose after being punched to the floor.
The victim reported that she had spoken to a group of young men, on a red and white moped with learner plates on, when one of the group had attacked her.
The group had their faces covered and had been riding the moped up and down a nearby reservoir path in Mill Green Nature Reserve before the assault happened.
The suspect is described as aged around 20, about 5ft 10in tall and was wearing dark clothing, glasses and a hood or woolly hat.
The man then entered a small dark-coloured car with no lights on and left the scene.
We are currently reviewing CCTV footage of the area at the time and would urge anyone who saw what happened or who may have relevant dashcam footage to get in touch with us.
Anyone with information should contact us on 101 quoting incident number 458 of 16 January.
