The family of a man who died in Werrington have paid tribute to him today (Friday 5 December).
We were called to a home on Park Avenue, Werrington, just after 9pm on Wednesday 26 November.
Sadly, Lee Mathers, 56, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Today, his family said he had a ‘heart of gold’ and would ‘help anyone in their time of need’.

“Lee was a son, father, brother, friend and a very popular local man. We will all miss him deeply. We’re absolutely devastated as a family and we’d ask that our privacy is respected at this incredibly difficult time.”
Lee’s next of kin continue to be supported by specialist officers.
Two 31-year-old men, a 29-year-old man, a 22-year-old woman and a 16-year-old boy, all from the Stoke-on-Trent area, were arrested on suspicion of murder.
They have all now been released on conditional bail while our enquiries continue.
