We have arrested a man on suspicion of drink driving following a breath test on the M6 in Stafford.
Officers from our road crime team (RCT) spotted a car driving down the northbound carriageway in the early hours this morning (Thursday 10 April) and pulled the driver over.
He blew 146 on a roadside breath test. The legal limit is 35.
A 50-year-old man, from Stafford, has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
Our road crime team are working proactively across Staffordshire to protect motorists from harm and to act robustly against those committing crimes.
In the first six months since we launched the team, more than 460 people have been arrested, 2,300 roadside tests carried out and 120 stolen vehicles recovered.
