Two people have been arrested after we uncovered around £1,000 in cash and an estimated 40 deals of heroin and crack cocaine in Stoke-on-Trent.
Officers, who are compiling intelligence and carrying out proactive enforcement across Staffordshire every day in the fight against serious and organised crime, searched two people in Bentilee, leading to the discovery of the items.
A 47-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, has been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine.
A 43-year-old woman, also from Stoke-on-Trent, has been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply heroin, crack cocaine, and possessing criminal property.
Both remain in custody for questioning.
Since we launched our clampdown on serious and organised crime in May last year, we’ve arrested more than 1,000 suspects for drug and weapon offences across Staffordshire.
We work hard every day to act upon intelligence, targeting criminals who commit high-harm offences in our communities, including drug supply, illegal firearms, knife crime, human trafficking and sexual exploitation.
