We’ve launched an investigation following a report of a sexual assault in Leek.
It happened at about 10pm yesterday (22 May) when a woman was sexually assaulted by a man who was wearing a grey hoodie near Burton Street.
She is continuing to receive support from specially-trained officers at this time.
We’re progressing our lines of enquiry at pace to identify the suspect. Officers are looking over CCTV, speaking to people in the area at the time and carrying out enquires as part of the investigation.
An increased number of officers are in the area to provide extra reassurance.
