A man who robbed another man at knifepoint in Stoke-on-Trent has been jailed for four-and-a-half-years.
Bradley Knight, aged 25, of Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, ambushed the victim in an alleyway off Victoria Road, Fenton, in August last year (2023).
He pulled out a flick-knife and asked the victim what was in his pockets. He pressed the knife into the man’s stomach whilst carrying out the robbery.
Knight took the man’s mobile phone and left the area.
We started work to gather evidence and later charged Knight with robbery and possession of a knife in a public place.
He pleaded guilty to the offences at an earlier court hearing and was jailed for four-and-a-half-years at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Friday 15 March.
Sergeant Marc Proctor, from the Stoke South local policing team, said: “I’m pleased that we’ve been able to secure justice for the man who was unfortunately subject to a distressing crime.
“We don’t underestimate the impact that incidents like this can have on people.
“We will take the most robust action possible against those responsible for this type of crime across Staffordshire.”
