We are appealing for information after a man was stabbed and a woman was assaulted in Stoke-on-Trent.
At about 2.40am this morning (Thursday 21 March), we got a call saying that the couple had been attacked by a small group of men inside a house on Dartmouth Street.
The man was taken to hospital after suffering stab wounds to his back. Thankfully, his injuries aren’t believed to be serious at this time.
The woman was also taken to hospital but wasn’t seriously injured.
We’ve set up a cordon in the area while we continue to carry out enquiries to find out more about what happened.
We are treating this is an isolated incident. Officers are progressing lines of enquiry at pace to identify those involved and gather evidence around the investigation.
We think the four suspects went into the property sometime between 1am and 1.30am this morning.
Officers are keen to speak to anyone with any information that can help us or those with CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage of the area at the time it happened.
