We’ve made an arrest and seized a screwdriver following reports of a man with a knife in Stoke-on-Trent.
At 3.20pm today (Tuesday 18 June), we were called to Pinewood Crescent in Meir after getting a call about a man who was wearing a balaclava and was holding a knife.
A nearby school went into lockdown as a precaution whilst officers searched the area.
We found a screwdriver in the area.
A 46-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, has been arrested on suspicion of possessing a sharp pointed article in a public place.
He will be questioned in custody.
We’d like to speak to anyone who saw what happened or those with CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage of the area at the time.
