We have seized cannabis, monkey dust and MDMA as part of our efforts to tackle community priorities in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
At around 8am on Thursday (25 January), officers searched an address near Knutton Lane and found the drugs, as well as 18 mobile phones, cash, scales and deal bags.
A 49-year-old man, from Newcastle-under-Lyme, has been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of cannabis. A 45-year-old woman, from Newcastle-under-Lyme, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class B.
Both have been released under investigation whilst our enquiries continue.
At around 2.15pm on the same day, we also found lots of class C prescription drugs after searching an address on Liverpool Road.
A 47-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, and a 40-year-old man, from North Staffordshire, were both arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug.
Both have been released under investigation while our enquiries continue.
Chief Inspector John Owen, from the Newcastle-under-Lyme local policing team, said: “We’re committed to acting on the concerns of local people and tackling the issues that matter most to our communities.
“We want to be as proactive as possible in our pursuit of those responsible for distributing harmful substances to our most vulnerable. We will continue to act on intelligence, speak to people about their concerns and take action against those responsible.”
