A suspected drug dealer has been arrested after we found bags of cocaine following a vehicle stop near Uttoxeter.
On Tuesday (9 January) members of one of our major and organised crime proactive teams, working with colleagues from tactical support, stopped a car on the A50 near to its junction with the A522. Officers recovered a package containing cocaine nearby.
A 26-year-old woman, from the Burton-upon-Trent area, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs. She has been released on conditional bail whilst enquires continue.
The activity follows our ongoing commitment to proactively target serious and organised crime across Staffordshire.
We launched Operation Target last year and have been working with local police forces to disrupt and pursue criminals who plan, organise and commit serious criminal offences across the county, including drug supply, illegal firearms, knife crime, human trafficking and sexual exploitation.
