We have arrested a man after unearthing £48,000 in cash and around £40,000-worth of crack cocaine, heroin and cannabis in Stoke-on-Trent.
Proactive officers turned up at an address in Shelton yesterday (28 February) and searched the inside. We found 248 individual wraps of heroin and cocaine, alongside more drugs in bulk quantities.
We then searched a linked address in the area and found £48,000 in cash hidden underneath a dressing table, alongside more cannabis.
A 19-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, has been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply crack cocaine, heroin and cannabis.
He is being questioned about the findings in custody today (29 February)
Chief Superintendent for Stoke-on-Trent, Elliot Sharrard-Williams, said: “Being proactive and targeting organised crime is one of our main policing priorities in Staffordshire.
“Findings like this are only made possible by listening to people’s concerns, acting on intelligence and robustly targeting those who are involved in organised criminality across the city.
“Organised drug supply often involves the exploitation of vulnerable people and can adversely impact on those who are most at risk in our communities. We want to support those affected by it and target those responsible as effectively as possible.
“We are continuing to work hard with our partners to tackle the issues that matter most to local people and businesses.”
