Drug dealer jailed after officers seize crack cocaine and heroin worth £3k

A drug dealer has been jailed after pleading guilty to supplying crack cocaine and heroin, worth £3,000, in Stoke-on-Trent.

Tyrell Karchut, 25, from Stoke-on-Trent, was stopped in December last year on Kildare Street in Longton.

We seized 136 wraps containing class A drugs, £40 in cash and mobiles phones from him.

Karchut was questioned about the findings in custody and later charged with drug supply offences.

He was sentenced to two-years-and-eight-months behind bars at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Monday (29 January) after pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.

The 25-year-old has also been ordered to pay a surcharge of £228.

Detective Sergeant Marc Proctor, who oversaw the case, said: “Ensuring Karchut was brought to justice for his crimes is a positive outcome. Intelligence is key to our ability to take drug dealers off the streets of Staffordshire, and I would urge anyone who suspects drug dealing in their area to report it to us.

“Officers across the force are committed to proactively targeting drug supply and will continue to act on intelligence leads and reports from the public to bring these people to justice.”
