We have arrested a man on suspicion of rape after launching an investigation in Cheadle.
Shortly after 4am on Friday morning (26 April), we received a report that a woman had been raped at an address in the area.
She is being supported by specially-trained officers at this traumatic time.
A 53-year-old man, from Cheadle, has been arrested on suspicion of rape. He has been questioned in custody and has since been released on conditional police bail while enquiries continue.
