We are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision in east Staffordshire.
Officers went to the A50 in Uttoxeter just before 6pm yesterday (Sunday 28 April) after a purple Peugeot and a black Ford Kuga collided.
Our colleagues from West Midlands Ambulance Service and Midlands Air Ambulance also went to the scene.
The road was closed and later reopened.
The driver of the Peugeot, a man in his 40s, was taken to hospital with head injuries.
He remains in a critical but stable condition.
The driver of the Kuga stayed at the scene to help us with our enquiries.
We are keen to speak to anyone with any CCTV or dashcam footage from the area or those with any information which could help.
Call us on 101, quoting incident 509 of 28 April, or message us using Live Chat on our website.
