Detectives are investigating after more than 2,000 cannabis plants were found inside a disused warehouse in Stoke-on-Trent.
We were called to Paxton Street, Hanley, at 5.39am last Tuesday (26 September) following reports of suspicious activity in the area.
Inside, officers found a large-scale cannabis factory. The address has since been secured and the plants have been seized.
If you were in the area and have any information that could help us with our inquiries, call 101, quoting incident 80 of 26 September, or message us using Live Chat on our website.
To report anonymously, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
The activity comes as we continue to proactively target those involved in cannabis cultivation as part of our Operation Levidrome commitment.
Cannabis farms can often be found in vacant warehouses or business premises, however the force is responding to increasing reports of large-scale grows found in residential properties, particularly in terrace housing.
Offenders will often buy or rent the property for the sole purpose of growing cannabis and will manually tamper with the electrics to bypass any meters.
