Shortly after 9pm this evening (1 November) we were called to Ellgreave Street in Burslem following reports of a dog attack.
Members of the public tried to intervene as a dog, believed to be an XL Bully, attacked two other dogs.
A man suffered serious arm injuries and has been taken to hospital.
We have contained the dog and officers remain at the scene.
Any witnesses, or anyone with any information, is asked to contact us on 101, quoting incident number 697 of 1 November.

Update: A 22-year-old woman from Stoke-on-Trent, and a 29-year-old man of no fixed address, have been arrested on suspicion of owning a dog that is dangerously out of control.
