A man has been jailed for 18 years after being convicted of child sexual offences in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
Dino Fiore, 38, from Newcastle-under-Lyme, abused the victim between February 2021 and May 2022.
Following a trial in April this year, Fiore was found guilty on two counts of rape of a child and two counts of inciting a girl to engage in sexual activity.
On Friday (16 June), he was sentenced to 18-years behind bars at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court, as well as being placed on the Sex Offenders' Register for life and being given a life-long Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
Detective Constable Keri Inskip, who dealt with the case, said: “Fiore took advantage of the victim’s trustful nature and kindness with a campaign of abuse.
“I hope that his sentencing provides some form of closure and that he will be behind bars for many years to come.”
If you have experienced a sexual offence, or are concerned that someone you care about might be at risk, you can report it anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
