A man has been arrested following a residential building fire in Tamworth.
At 9.49am this morning (6 June), we were called to Stretton Street in Glascote following reports of a fire.
Crews from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service were already in attendance and had extinguished the blaze. Those inside the building had already been evacuated and no one was reported injured.
A joint investigation into the cause of the fire is underway with colleagues from the fire service.
A short time later, we arrested a 45-year-old man from Tamworth on suspicion of arson.
He remains in custody while inquiries continue.
Anyone with any CCTV or dashcam footage of the area or those with any information which can help with our investigation are asked to get in touch.
