We are appealing for information after a man was arrested following a fatal collision in Burton-on-Trent this morning (12 December).
A motorbike and a silver Mercedes collided on Horninglow Road North at about 4.40am.
We went to the scene with paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service. Sadly, the rider of the motorbike, a man in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially-trained officers at this difficult time.
The driver of the Mercedes, a man in his 30s, from Tamworth, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, driving without a licence, failing to stop after an accident and drink driving. He remains in police custody.
The road was re-opened at 2pm today.
