A man has been charged with murder following the death of a woman in Cannock last year.
Police attended a property on Bath Road in West Chadsmoor, on Wednesday 29 December 2021, following concerns regarding the welfare of a woman.
Sadly, 39-year-old Lucy Clews was pronounced dead by paramedics a short time later.
Thomas Grant, aged 26, of no-fixed-address, was charged with murder last night (Monday 30 May).
He appeared before magistrates at North Staffordshire Justice Centre today (Tuesday 31 May) and was remanded in custody ahead of a further court appearance due at Stafford Crown Court tomorrow (Wednesday 1 June).
Officers would like to urge individuals not to speculate over the case on social media as you could prejudice legal proceedings.
