Officers are warning people to be on their guard against suspicious callers at the door following a bogus official incident in Stoke-on-Trent.
The advice comes after it was reported a female bogus gas official attended properties on Trent Valley Road at around 2pm on November 9.
She is described as white, with fair hair and a blonde streak and was seen wearing black clothing.
It is reported she had no identification to confirm she worked for the gas board. It is also believed she left a property stating she had the wrong address.
Officers are keen to speak to anyone with information, or who saw anyone suspicious activity in the area prior to the incident.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Staffordshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 378 of November 9.
