We were called to reports of a fire at Salvation Army in Vale Street, Stoke, at around 1.20am this morning (Feb 10) by Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze in a single room at the premises.
A 37-year-old man from the local area was arrested on suspicion of arson shortly afterwards and remains in custody.
Enquiries are ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact us on 101 or via social media referring to incident 19 of 10 February.
