A woman has been arrested following a fire at a derelict property in Hanley last night.
Police were called at 10.30pm last night (Thursday 5 August) to Hope Street following reports of a fire.
The woman, a 47-year-old of no fixed address, was arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life.
She has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
The woman who was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham is no longer in a critical condition but remains in hospital.
