Police are now able to confirm the identity of a woman who died in a collision on the A50.
Officers were called at 6.30pm on Thursday (15 April) to the A50 Blythe Bridge at the junction of the A521 East following reports of a collision between a car and a white flatbed HGV.
Police attended along with colleagues from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service and West Midlands Ambulance Service.
Two casualties were located out of a white Vauxhall Insignia saloon car with serious injuries.
Despite the efforts of emergency services a woman in her 60s was sadly pronounced dead by paramedics a short time later.
Formal identification of the woman has now taken place and police can confirm that 64-year-old Kveta Hangonyiova of Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, died at the scene.
A 64-year-old man remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital and specialist officers continue to support family members at this difficult time.
