Complaints are an important way for us to learn where we are falling short as a service and correct it as quickly as possible. Every complaint is different, but we’ll follow the legislation and the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) guidelines to try to find a satisfactory solution.

You may feel reluctant to make a formal complaint, but you would still like to share your thoughts. To raise an issue about something that has caused you concern, or to tell us about your experience, there are a variety of ways that you can get in touch.
We welcome your feedback to make improvements and monitor our practices.
As a member of a community, if you want to raise a concern about the way we are using stop and search powers, you can complete a stop and search trigger application. You have a right to contact us, even if you were not directly affected.
You can provide feedback in person at any police station.
You can use the stop and search community trigger process. This lets members of the community ask about how stop and search is used in their area and give us feedback.
You can trigger the process in these ways:
The Force Stop and Search Working Group
Staffordshire Police Headquarters
Weston Road
Stafford
ST18 0YY
If you have an ongoing complaint that's already being dealt with by Staffordshire Police, you should email the Performance and Standards Unit.
We'll refer your concerns to the senior officer who chairs the Force Working Group on stop and search, who'll assess the best method of addressing the issues you've raised. Your concerns may be passed to the Local Police Commander or to the Performance and Standards Unit and they may be the subject of a specific investigation, research or action.
If you provide contact details we'll give you feedback. All the issues reported via the community trigger process will be shared (personal data will be removed) with Local Policing Scrutiny Panels and the community for further openness.
If you have had a positive experience, or would like to provide us with some general feedback you can use this online contact us form.
We would like to hear all feedback, which can support the review process. You can view our stop and search data to see how the power to stop and search is used.
Find out how to get involved with monitoring how stop and search is used in the community. You can also join officers on their shift and experience how it is used.
