Sorry, there was a technical problem. Please try again.
Thanks for trying the 'beta' version of our new website. It's a work in progress, we'll be adding new services over the next few weeks, so please take a look and tell us what you think.
If you or someone else have been seriously injured or are in danger of being attacked or hurt, please call 999 now. We can send someone to help right away.
This service will help you report rape and sexual assault, and other sexual offences like indecent exposure and upskirting. You can also report sexual harassment using this service.
First we'll ask you some questions to make sure reporting online is right for you, and so we can give you the right form to fill in.
Then you'll fill in the report itself.
This will take about 20 to 30 minutes, so please make sure you're safe to take that time.
We won't judge you, we'll treat you with respect, and we'll always put your health and wellbeing first.
You can report something that's happened to you, or to someone else. You can report anonymously, without giving us your details.
Use the 'Leave this site' button if you need to. It will close this site and open the Google search engine. Your form won't be saved and won't be sent to us.
Report rape or sexual assault to the police on someone else's behalf
You can report rape or sexual assault on behalf of someone else to us online.
You can report on behalf of someone else if you're a friend or family member, or from a support agency the victim has asked for help.
We will ask you whether you have permission from the victim to report it to the police, and whether we can contact them.
We'll ask you about:
You might not know or the victim might not remember all the details. That's okay, just tell us whatever you can.
Your report will be dealt with by our control room in exactly the same way whether you report it online or call 101.
If you tell us we can contact you, an officer will get back to you in a maximum of four hours, or at a time you've asked us to.
Anonymous reports are useful to us, but if you don’t give us any contact details we may not be able to fully investigate the incident.
You can give us your details later on if you change your mind.
If you don’t give us your details we will only try to contact you if we think you or someone else is in danger.
If the victim doesn’t want support from us, please get support for rape and sexual assault elsewhere (opens in a new window so you can come back to this form).
Average completion time: 20 to 30 minutes.
You must complete each step of the form within two hours.
When you're ready, click 'Start' to begin.
