We are proud to be one of 36 police forces in the country to be part of the #BikeSafe initiative.
The initiative aims to provide motorcyclists with specialist post-test training to increase road safety.
In 2022, there were 350 fatal accidents involving motorcyclists in the UK, up from 310 in 2021, and four percent more than in 2019.
BikeSafe workshops are held which involve a classroom element, aimed at covering cornering, overtaking, filtering, junctions, hazard awareness and the wider system of motorcycle control. This is then followed by an assessed ride with an advanced police motorcyclist, covering a variety of elements on A and B roads, as well as some motorway sections.
The workshops are delivered in an informal manner at our Police Headquarters, Weston Road, Stafford, with the theory sessions taking place in the morning and the practical element in the afternoon.
Our courses have proven to be highly popular and are fully booked for the remainder of 2023.
Please visit the BikeSafe website to join the waiting list and updates from BikeSafe.
We ride in almost any weather except thick fog, ice or snow, so bring appropriate clothing. Please ensure you have a full tank of fuel and either bring your own packed lunch or funds to buy your own food, facilities are available nearby.
