Members of the Police, Fire and Crime Panel have supported the Staffordshire Commissioner’s proposed precept increase of 4.99% for Staffordshire Police.
Funding for Staffordshire Police is made up of a mix of central government grants, combined with the ‘precept’ – the contribution residents make as part of their annual council tax.
The budget plans for the services were outlined to the panel, including the proposed level of council tax for Police and Fire services across the county.
The policing element of an average band D council tax bill will now increase by £13 a year, or approximately £1.08 extra a month. The fire element of an average band D Council tax bill will increase by £2.52 a year, or 21p extra a month.
