Sorry, there was a technical problem. Please try again.
Thanks for trying the 'beta' version of our new website. It's a work in progress, we'll be adding new services over the next few weeks, so please take a look and tell us what you think.
Our officers and staff will soon be using secure video technology to speak to victims of domestic abuse, and put safeguarding in place, more quickly.
The technology is new to Staffordshire Police but is a tried-and-tested approach that other forces across the country are already using.
We will be launching a dedicated Enhanced Video Response (EVR) team from late November, in Stoke-on-Trent, initially. The team will use secure video technology to see domestic abuse victims quicker than if we had scheduled a physical appointment.
When we receive a call about non-urgent domestic abuse, the team will make an assessment and if the victim is safe, willing and able to speak, they will manage the case. They will share any appropriate information with partners.
Officers will still physically attend domestic abuse incidents where there is a risk to safety, where the suspect is still at the address, if the victim does not wish to discuss the matter over a video call or if the victim has not got the required technology.
