Since the disorder in Stoke-on-Trent on 3 August and Tamworth on 4 August, we’ve made more than 130 arrests and charged more than 50 people with various offences, and more will be coming.
Detectives and staff have been trawling through CCTV footage, bodyworn video and social media streams to identify those who subjected officers and members of the local community to senseless acts of criminality.
In September, we secured only the second riot conviction in the UK following the national disorder in August against a man from Tamworth. In the same week, we secured another. Both men are now serving time in prison.
Enforcement action against those identified will continue across Staffordshire whilst our dedicated team of detectives trawl through the vast array of evidence we have.
