Parking enforcement powers are shared between the police and Staffordshire County Council. Some of the things that the police enforce in relation to parking would be: where a vehicle is causing an obstruction and particularly when the vehicle is parked in a dangerous place.

Parking blueThe police only deal with serious obstructions that could put other motorists in extreme danger. All other parking issues are dealt directly by your appropriate county council.

To find out more about council parking enforcement powers visit Staffordshire County Council's or Stoke-on-Trent City Council's website.

Some of the parking issues are dealt with by your local authority include:

  • double yellow lines
  • dropped kerb access (also Civil Enforcement Officers)
  • double parking (also CEO's)
  • pedestrian crossings (also CEO's)
