Officers are appealing for anyone who saw or heard suspicious behaviour in the Trent Vale area this afternoon (10 March) to come forward as they are investigating a man’s death.
We were called to a report of a serious assault inside a property on Lymebrook Place, Stoke-on-Trent at around 4:05pm.
Officers found two casualties inside the property with serious injuries. Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of paramedics, a man his 30s was declared deceased a short while later. A second man in his 40s has been taken to hospital with less serious injuries.
The death is currently being treated as unexplained whilst detectives work to establish the circumstances leading up to the man’s death. Officers are currently trying to identify and inform the deceased’s next of kin and until then the public are discouraged from speculating online.
Local residents will see an increased presence in the area this evening to provide reassurance and to help gather information. House to house enquiries are being completed in the local area to help find out more about what happened.
If you know anything about this incident or saw or heard anything out of the ordinary, please contact 101 quoting incident number 485 of 10 March.
