Two men have been arrested following a fatal collision in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
Officers went to High Street, Wolstanton, just before 2.10am yesterday (Sunday 15 June) following reports of a single-vehicle collision involving a white Skoda Octavia.
West Midlands Ambulance Service also attended.
Sadly, despite the efforts of emergency services and brave members of the public who went to his aid, 40-year-old Steven Field, from Stoke-on-Trent, died at the scene.
Steven’s family is being supported by specialist officers at this time.
A 27-year-old man, from the Newcastle-under-Lyme area, and a 26-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
They have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
