A man who broke into a house in Stoke-on-Trent and took power tools has been jailed.
Cy Podmore, 50, of Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, committed the burglary on Anchor Road, Longton, in July last year. He was seen on CCTV coming out of the house carrying two large bags of power and hand tools.
Podmore was tracked down by local officers and arrested. He then pleaded guilty to burglary at an earlier court hearing and was sentenced to 11-months in prison at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Monday (9 June). He was also ordered to pay £187 in costs.
Detective Sergeant Marc Proctor, from the city proactive team, said: “We’ve been working hard to go after those responsible for burglary, theft and robbery across Staffordshire, which has resulted in a reduction in the number of crimes last year.
“This type of crime causes massive damage to people, businesses and livelihoods. We know it’s one of our communities’ main priorities and we’re determined to keep acting against those responsible.”
